The therapy of the colon (large intestine) and its benefits have been known and practiced for hundreds of years. In the past, people were taught how to care for the bowel and knowledge of the bowel was widespread. Through the years, bowel wisdom was lost and it became something that no one wanted to talk about anymore.
The popularity of colon hydrotherapy reached its peak in the mid 1900’s. At that time, colon irrigation machines were commonly seen and regularly used as a standard practice in hospitals and Doctor’s offices. In the past 10 years we have seen a resurgence of colon hydrotherapy as well as other beneficial therapies.
There are several very good reasons why one should look at having colon hydrotherapy done. To begin with, let’s look at the colon … probably the most neglected organ in the body, the garbage can of the body, so to speak. In all civilized societies, especially in North America, there is a high incidence of intestinal toxicity. This occurs when waste material remains in the colon for too long. This will happen when food is not chewed properly, there is not enough fiber in the diet and/or not enough water ingested. The result is the walls of the colon becoming a sticky, coated mass. Eventually the walls of the colon become so thick with plaque that undesirable bacteria ferment old fecal material and produce poisons. These poisons are then absorbed into the body from the intestines. This is called autointoxication and plays a large part in the development of many diseases.
Common signs of toxicity and conditions that respond to colon hydrotherapy include: Headaches, fatigue, bad breath, allergies, pot belly, backaches, body odor, irritability, arthritis, fibromyalgia, constipation, confusion, skin blemishes, dark circles under eyes, cold hands and feet, abdominal gas, bloating, diarrhea, asthma, muscle pain, sciatica, nausea, attention deficit disorder, etc. Colon hydrotherapy not only deals with the physical but also helps to release emotional and mental blockages.
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe, effective, gentle method of cleansing the colon of waste material. The colon is flushed gently with warm water during the 45-minute session, and the abdomen is massaged. The equipment is hygienic and disposable. The water pressure is very low and it is pre-filtered. One tube gently introduces filtered water and a second tube (which never comes in contact with the first) safely carries away the waste material. Having a treatment is not embarrassing; there is no mess or odor. Your personal dignity is always honoured. Most people do enjoy the procedure and are pleased with the "lighter” sensation following.
What can colonics do for the colon?
A colonic exercises the colon muscles and aids in improving or restoring proper peristalsis, the movement of the alimentary canal.
A colonic will cleanse the colon of impacted fecal matter, parasites, heavy metals, mucous deposits and more.
A colonic will help to reshape the colon. When certain conditions are present, it can alter the shape of the colon and thus cause problems. Colonics help the colon to regain its normal shape.
A colonic can stimulate reflex points. Every organ and bodily system is connected to the colon. The colonic treatment(s) stimulates these points, thus providing wonderful benefits to the entire body.
