The theme for this issue is "Doing My Part”: it is all about BEING the change we want to see in the world. This means we simultaneously keep the big picture in our hearts and minds while "doing our part" right here at home.
That may include being of service to someone, getting to know our neighbours, planting a garden, riding a bike, taking care of our health, community service such as cubs and brownies, picking up litter, helping a stranger carry their groceries or asking a cashier how their day is – and genuinely wanting to know! There are endless ways that we can act locally to create a world that is more co-operative, harmonious and loving.
I’m happy to announce the winner of the Synergy Subscription Draw: congratulations to Lavana Van Beek of Nanaimo! For purchasing a year’s subscription to have Synergy Magazine mailed to her door, Lavana has won $800.00 in healing and self-care services from Mid Island Healing Centre in Nanaimo’s Old City Quarter.
"Your Thoughts”, messages from the readers of Synergy, are on Page 18. We hope to grow this section to a full page as readers give their feedback, reply to articles and share their opinions.
Let’s begin this edition with Margaret Mead’s quote: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
