Mind & Body Health

I woke up this morning thinking about Dannion Brinkley. For those of you that haven’t heard about this very charismatic individual, I’ll just give you the short biography. Dannion had 3 near death experiences, two of them as a result of being hit by lightning. I consider the first, more of a death experience as he was clinically dead for 28 minutes. He passed over to the other side and was given an abundance of information, but I won’t deal with any of that as he has three books out on the subject.

Danion had what he calls a panoramic life review, and that’s the part I’d like to talk about. Dannion was not the nicest guy (he says) – quite the bully – and when he went into his life review he saw, heard and felt every deed in his experience from every point of view. He felt his feelings of superiority etc. and the feelings of those he hurt on all levels also. He gives an example of someone he killed in the war and how he felt everything around that. Danion could see how the absence of this man affected the family, leading to poverty and starvation.

Since Danion’s first "death experience” in his 20’s, he has changed his life a great deal. His second panoramic life review after being "zapped” the second time was somewhat different. He again experienced all the negative events as well as all the new positive ones. If you meet Dannion today you would be hard pressed to escape one of his famous bear hugs. He jokingly says he enjoys his life review much more that way! This man spreads love throughout the world and his impact is great.

We can all do the same thing. To do this one must live every moment in the best way possible. A smile at someone who is having a bad day can completely turn that around. I don’t remember where I heard the story of the person who was going to commit suicide, but I’ll tell you the gist of it. The young man was going through plans for his own demise, when a perfect stranger struck up a friendly conversation with him. The impact of this chance encounter was that the young man didn’t follow through with his plan. To this day the stranger is unaware of his good deed! That will be some life review!

So living each moment, in the most positive way, can have far reaching results, including our own happiness. If we understand that we are all powerful spiritual beings having a human experience, then we can also understand that perfection is highly overrated. Live the human experience the best way you know how and the impact on the world will be immense.

I’m starting to understand a little better what love means. It’s being able to love people for who they are, no matter what faults they have. This includes the person that looks back at you from the mirror. If we are aware of each others foibles, with compassion not judgment, then we come a long way to living life positively.
